REVIVAL
Have you been waiting to see photos developed from film more than a decade old? No, probably not. But in the off chance that you were, this one's for you.
I couldn't think of a better way to start Past Made Present than by sharing these photos taken something like 14 years ago. I was in high school at the time and on a backpacking trip in the North Cascades. Also along for the trip was a Canon 35mm camera with, get this...automatic focusing, program, and priority modes! I hardly knew a thing about cameras then. But all the gizmos built in to the state of the art brick I carried along meant that even I would be able to point, click, and end up with some usable exposures.
After five days hiking from Stehekin through Cascade Pass, the exposed film was wound up and tossed in a desk drawer, where it sat. And sat. Somehow, after I had gone off to college and moved out of my parents house, and again five more times, the film stayed with me.
I know what you're thinking. "Why the hell didn't you develop the film or just throw the damn rolls away!?" I don't know. It took a renewed interest in photography and regular trips to local photo labs for me to remember the old rolls and finally drop them off for processing.
Here's a few images that survived all those years. The results are funky, but don't disappoint!
