ABOUT US

This website was constructed as a part of a graduate seminar on history and digital media: "History in the Digital Age." The class was taught by Jeremy Boggs at American University in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University in Fairfax, V.A.

The project was created by three graduate students at American University:

  • Suzie Mantz - MA Candidate in Diplomatic History
  • Kelly Gannon - MA Candidate in Public History
  • Loren Miller - Ph.D. Candidate in American History
WHAT IS THE PROJECT This is a digital exhibit from the Spring 2010 semester. It is meant to highlight the centennial anniversary of the building that currently houses the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (USCAAF.) This project will have 2 major components:
  • An exhibit on the history of the courthouse including information on its place within Judiciary Square, architecture, and the courts formerly and currently housed in the building.
  • A lesson plan formatted in the Teaching with Historic Places style that explores the trial held at the USCAAF of Lt. William Calley in relation to the 1968 My Lai Massacre during the Vietnam Conflict. This section also provides additional resources for educators.
